Misa 9 - 5 Collection Spring 2011 - Swatches and Review

I am so happy I can show you the new Misa collection for spring 2011 called 9 - 5. Not everybody has the luck that they can wear bright colors, neons or glitters to work. This collection is exactly for them. Six shades that are office appropriate.

The swatches are all without a base or top coat and are in natural daylight (no sun or lightbox).

PAY DAYS ARE HAPPY DAYS
Light taupe creme. Typical Misa formula, I had no problems with this one. Two coats.

COFFEE PICK ME UP
Purple beige creme. I love these colors. Looks like I will have to make a comparison with other polishes I have. Two coats.

PAINT MY NAILS @ WORK
This one was a bit thicker that the others, so I had some problems with the application. Next time I will do thinner coats and it should be fine. Two coats.

BLUSH HOUR
A very very light cool toned pink. Not a very unique color but I like it. I am looking for a new job and I think I will reach for this often :) Two coats again.

WORKING HARD OR HARDLY WORKING
I love the name of this one :) It is a grey creme with a hint of blue. Again I think this one is on my comparison list. I like greys like this. Two coats.

OFFICE POLISH-TICS
Last is my favourite of the collection. Not because it is much darker than the rest but because of the color. I think I don´t have anythink like this. The formula on this one was perfect. If you were to get just one polish from the whole collection, I suggest you get this one. Two coats.

If your boss doesn´t let you wear bright polishes I am sure you will love this collection. It is not super unique but I still like it. The formula was a bit thicker but it wasn´t a problem application wise. My favourite of the collection was Office Polish-tics but as I said, I am looking for a new job so these will come handy.
Now what do you think about the collection after seeing these swatches? And what polish do you wear to work? Can´t wait to read your comments :)

  13. I love them. I love them on you. But surely they could have put a shimmer or something in them to make them a bit more interesting without making them work-inappropriate. These days I need a polish to be more than just a nice colour.

  20. Some of these colors remind me of China Glaze's Anchors Away collection!

Especially: Coffee Pick Me Up, Paint My Nails @ Work, and Working Hard or Hardly Working.

I like the names of these polishes, they're cute :)

  23. You're so right! I haven't even thought about this one like that (although the names are a dead give away), just as a boring spring collection. But I suspect I'll have to work in an environment that will demand more subtile polish on my nails. For people that have to pay attention to what's on their nails, this is a perfect collection, couldn't agree more.

  29. Thank you so much for posting this - I would not have known this collection was out otherwise! I know people love seeing unique colors swatched, but many people (myself included) can't wear colors like that to work, so these are FABULOUS. I would love to see comparisons of Coffee Pick Me Up with CG Below Deck as well as Working Hard Or Hardly Working with CG Pelican Grey. Thanks again!!

  35. I love these colors, gorgeous really!

  36. I loved each of these when I applied them. Somehow I think it is easier to appreciate them seperately, rather than as a whole. All together they seem boring, but individually they are comfy and chic at the same time!

  37. oh! i forgot to ask. you said you took these pictures in natural daylight, how did you get a dark background?

  38. jbrobeck: that is a black t-shirt :)

  41. Fabulous swatches!!!! I'm nurse, sometimes I wear colors like this... and sometimes I wear Illamasqua's Milf - I love it - or bright red. My nails are short, of course, but I like to look different. In this days everybody, the other nurses, the doctors, the patients look at me with some surprise, ;-)) But I think It's very important to look good, happy, with beautiful colors in your nails and in your face, of course, becouse the life is very serious some times... I need many colorfull nail polish in my life!!! (and lipsticks, blushes, eyeshadows) Ja,ja,ja!!!
