I don´t buy my nail polishes in the drugstore. All the colors are sooo boring there and also overpriced compared to the price of OPI, China Glaze etc. from the US. The only brand that has interesting products is Essence. Problem is that they are always sold out :( Last week I was lucky enough to grab a last bottle of this new beautiful shade. Where is the party? is so many colors in a bottle. The basic color is a grey purple but from certain angles you can also see turquoise and green (those are not very visible on the nail). Be careful about the application, it tends to make brushstrokes but not much. I used two coats for the swatches.

omg, would u happen to have Sephora OPI's Mash Up or Zoya's Ki? they do a similar effect as well, the purple is what drew me to them >.<
ReplyDeleteLingLing: sadly I don´t :( that is why I bought this one. I have nothing I could compare it to.
ReplyDeleteI have been searching for this colour everywhere...
ReplyDeleteI want this color so badly! Does the green shine transfer to the nail?
ReplyDeleteThe Lifeaholics: not much, I saw a bit of it under artificial light. I can´t say how about the sun as there is no sun today :(
ReplyDeletehmmm i like the color but the effect is a little bit dissepointed! But i'll buy it when he is here ;-) Nice article
ReplyDeleteI have this one too, I think it looks way better in person! It's so pretty ^^
ReplyDeletedoes it look like the similiar one from opi's katy perry collection? thx mary
ReplyDeleteKrásnej! Pevně doufám, že se mi ho podaří ulovit, až budu v Praze...

I want it! I love this color and your finish! GORGEOUS!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to have it!!
ReplyDeleteI love this polish!
very nice duo-chrome from Essence.
ReplyDeleteHow does this compare to OPI's not like the movies?
ReplyDeleteOk now I'm sure I have to buy it!
ReplyDeleteIt's such a confusing colour! Just because it's more than one all melted together :D
ReplyDeleteWow, this is gorgeous!
ReplyDeletemary, Emily: good idea :) I will compare these two.
ReplyDeleteaaaaaa, drogerie těšte se, zítra budu neodbytná, dokuď nedostanu tohohle krasavce:D
ReplyDeletei absolutely love this! i'm going to try to pick it up if i see it
ReplyDeleteOh, I see we have the same problem in our both countries about Essence best shades that are always sold out :p
ReplyDeleteBut I also had luck enough to find this one last week. It's really pretty on you, I love it :)
Can't wait to try it on ^^
Gwenn: I dn´t understand why they don´t make more...they would sell more. I am going to a bigger drustore tomorrow and see what I can get from the new stuff :)
ReplyDeleteI've never paid attention to this brand. I always thought it wasn't a brand sold here. I finally saw it online at Ulta. The interesting shades aren't there. This is a gorgeous one.
ReplyDeleteThey don't seem to have the same variety of colors of Essence over here in the US because I look every time at Ulta and I haven't seen anything like this. They are well worth picking up for $1, though.
ReplyDeleteYou should really write a post about minimizing brush strokes. I tend to do a real mess each time I have to apply metallic polishes (I love metallic polishes, but the effect is horrible!)
ReplyDeleteAre you going to review the Island Escape collection by China Glaze? I can't wait to see a comparison pic of Papaya Punch with other yellow-orange colours :-D
V
PlatinumV: I try to apply the polish light handed, try not to press too much.
ReplyDeleteAbout the Island Escape...I got for review all their last collections so I hope I get the chance to try this one out too. If I get it I will for sure make the orange (not only) comparison.
Thank you! You are always so kind! (and so quick to answer :-D )

I picked this up from Rossmann 2 weekends ago. I didn't know it was a new polish. What caught my eyes was the colour, it looked green under the light but the cap is purple.
ReplyDeletethis is exactly the polish i have been looking for! i wanted a purple of this shade that is a cross between a creme and a metallic. jennifer lopez has been wearing a color like this in every episode of american idol. i wonder if i can find essence in america :)
ReplyDeleteExcellent swatch!!!
ReplyDeleteJennifer: I think it is even cheaper than in Europe :)
ReplyDeleteOh and I went shopping for some more Essence today and got a great silver holo glitter. looks amazing!
Oh God!! Is it as awesome IRL as it looks in the pics?
ReplyDeleteAnd I have to wait until mid-April to get it, go figure!
marox79: yes it! I have it on right now (bought several bottles of the new collection since it's easy for me to find this brand in Europe) and it's fantastic. I've stared at my own nails for two days, kept looking at them and moving them to see the changing colour effect. I think this is my new favourite colour!
ReplyDeleteAllYouDesire: actually, yes. Over here in Italy I get the Colour & Go for 1,29 euros (about 1,9$) and the MultiDimension line for 1.99 (3$). I think Essence has some great swatches indeed, and so its "bigger" sister Catrice, which has beautiful colors, too, but it's a little more expensive (nothing major actually).
Ooh. Nice. I just posted some swatches of this on my blog, so I went looking for other posts of this polish. It's so pretty!! I think you captured the steely-grayish-taupy side much better than I did :)
