Illamasqua Raindrops

I love the idea behind this polish and the picture that was its inspiration. Raindrops on a window on a grey rainy day. I actually like these days but when I am at home with a cup of tea and a delicious cake :) Whenever I look at Illamasqua Raindrops it reminds me of such days. The colour is a light grey with flecks of silver. It is beautiful! But it is not perfect...sadly this polish covers in four, five coats. Something I did not experience with any other Illamasqua polish...depends on you, how much you like it :)

  2. I love this one so much! Gorgeous pictures, as always! I found that three coats did just fine for me. Sorry you had trouble!

  3. Lauren: well that is strange...I already had it twice as a full mani and always had to use four coats. Wonder what am I doing wrong :)

  4. This is a beautiful color, but 5 coats is too much. I get annoyed when I have to do 3 coats lol

  7. 5 coats is out of control. But it is a gorgeous polish. Is there anything similar that can be used as a base?

  8. TA: there are a lot of similar polishes that can be used under. What about trying Illamasqua DWS? Or one of these: http://www.all-you-desire.com/2011/02/spring-2011-greys-comparison.html

  9. The glitter is really nice and what sets it apart from all the other light gray cremes. Very pretty.

  10. Hmm, I haven't tried my bottle of this yet--maybe I'll go straight to wearing it with underwear.

  11. Have you tried it yourself, layering it on top of some neutral gray polish? I wonder if those flakes are still visible (as it's going to be one-two coats over regular creme)?
It's beautiful, and I like it a lot, but I'm not sure if I want it if it's only wearable in 4-5 coats..

  12. 5 coats... too much but the shade is great and the shape of your nails is perfect!
Also the quality of photos is amazing, everything is clear and colours are crazy! :)
Keep on doing great work, cheers :)

  15. Beautiful color!! Bummer about 5 coats though!

  16. That's my problem too. I love the color but it's so sheer. I've tried it on a couple of grey bases but haven't been totally happy with the results. I will keep trying and find the perfect grey to layer it on.

  18. This is a very beautiful color. May I ask what do you do to keep your nails in such a great shape? They seem very strong and unbreakable!

  19. I think your nails are modelling on the official Illamasqua website, right?

  20. Viki: yes, my nails are at the Illamasqua website :) I am lucky enough to have healthy nails naturally but I help them by always using a base coat and never using them as tools (opening cans etc..)
