OPI The Amazing Spider-Man Collection 2012- Swatches and Review

I am sorry for the lack of posts on my blog lately...I hope to make up for this by showing you the newest collection from OPI. It is another film-inspired collection.

OPI says: "OPI is so excited to work with Sony Pictures in welcoming Spider-Man back on the big screen,” explains Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director. “This film explores a new chapter in the Spider-Man legacy that’s going to be both dark and sexy. The colors created for this promotion capture the movie’s exciting atmosphere, with standout shades like the deep shimmering blue Into the Night and the metallic golden green Just Spotted the Lizard.” The film villain’s reptilian look can be replicated with a high-fashion twist by using the new deep green shimmer Shatter coat. Shatter the Scales is inspired by graffiti art and works when painted over any dry OPI hue. Adding top coat takes Shatter the Scales from matte to glossy in seconds."

Here are my swatches:

YOUR WEB OR MINE?

INTO THE NIGHT

CALL ME GWEN-EVER

JUST SPOTTED THE LIZARD

MY BOYFRIEND SCALES WALLS

NUMBER ONE NEMESIS

SHATTER THE SCALES over MY BOYFRIEND SCALES WALLS

So here they are. I still did not see the film, so I can´t say how much the colours correspond. I have to say that the collection seemed a bit boring to me from the swatches I saw on other blogs. After seeing them in real life and trying them on my nails I must be a bit nicer to this collection. There are some really pretty polishes. My favourite is Into the Night, although it is the only three-coater from the whole collection. Most of you already know that Just Spotted the Lizard is a dupe of Chanel Peridot. Great opportunity for those of you who missed the original Chanel. Overall I must say that this is not a collection that would wow me, OPI made better in the previous months. On the other side you should not overlook it completely and maybe you will find a new unexpected favourite.

I would love to hear your thoughts about this collection!

  1. I like Into The Night and Number One Nemesis best. Your Web Or Mine looks nice, too, but it's too pink for me personally.

  3. Beautiful swatches, especially Number one nemesis came out really well! I agree, Into the Night was a big dissapointment - good colour but not great formula

  4. I can see no Spiderman in it at all. The only colour that definitely matches the Spiderman theme (as far as I know it but I haven't seen the new movie yet) is the blue one but the others?? Why pink? Why white? Why golden-green? Maybe the glitter gray could be accepted but nothing more. It didn't impress me at all.

  5. For me sadly this collection do literally nothing. All colours are easly dupable. I´m not into Spiderman, but as well as Verunka I cannot see Spiderman theme in them /maybe Lizzard, but where is red?/.

  6. Just Spotted The Lizard and Number One Nemesis are definitely going home with me. I can take a pass on the rest and not feel guilty.

Great swatches! As always, your nails are beautiful.

  10. Tahle kolekce je podle mě totální propadák....Nuda, nepříliš originální barvy a hlavně když se řekne spiderman, vybaví se mi modrá a červená, ty tu obě chybí...To Minnie je daleko víc povedená :)

  12. I agree with you that this collection does not wow, even after having seen it in person. The only one I got is My Boyfriend Scales Walls, because it inspired a ton of nail art ideas for me.

  15. I love the dustiness of the orange of Call Me Gwen-Ever, and of course Spotted The Lizard and Number One Nemesis are hot. But why make an ugly streaky mess like Your Web or Mine? Blergh.

  17. I have My Boyfriend Scales Walls, and I love it! It looks like a nice, soft white on its own without being garish, and I'll probably buy a back-up bottle for when I inevitably run out--I use it all the time now!

Of course, JStL is an awesome one too. I'm wearing it on my toes now and love it! :)
