China Glaze New Bohemian Collection 2012 - Swatches and Review

Hello everyone! Good to be back after a vacation I took :)

Today I want to show you a collection I was looking forward to very much. The first press release made me want all of the polishes in the new China Glaze New Bohemian collection. Well have a look at my swatches and see whether they are really worth buying. As always I took my swatches under natural indoor daylight (no sun or flash). Here they are:

SWANKY SILK

RARE & RADIANT

WANT MY BAWDY

DEVIANTLY DARING

NO PLAIN JANE

UNPREDICTABLE

Looking at my swatches you might think that the collection is a bit different from the official pictures. Well yes it is, some of these do not have such a strong duochrome finish. But I have to admit that I still like the collection very much.
Generally it was very easy to work with these, they covered in 2-3 coats, no streaks etc. My favourite is for sure Deviantly Daring (cover almost in one coat), which I am wearing right now. I am sure that you can also see some polishes which look like dupes of other brands. I will try to do all the comparisons asap. Keep an eye for that :)
I would love to hear from you what you think.

  1. I was longing for those swatches, and you did a great job as always! Overall, I'll admit I'm not sold on the collection (yet); BUT I'd definitely try out No Plain Jane. She is promising!

  2. I have 4 of these and so far I've only tried No Plain Jane. I thought it was just purple, but it is so much more than that. I kept it on for 3 days (quite a feat for me!) and couldn't stop staring at it! I love your swatches and they make me want to bust out my other ones right now!

  4. I have Unpredictable. Love it. The duochrome is strongest inside, and nonexistant in sunlight. It is a dupe to Nicole by OPI's Mer-maid for Each Other. Might get Swanky Silk sometime. Rare & Radiant has been done to death.

  5. I died and went to heaven: the polishes are great? Not very unique actually, but finally sth different from glitters ;-)

  6. I loved Deviantly Daring, do you think that could be used to stamp like ChG Romantique collection?

    1. It's pretty. I already have the exact same shade in a Deborah Lippmann polish already however.

  8. Must get Deviantly Daring & Unpredictable...I'd love to see a comparison post on OPI Into the Night (spiderman) and Want My Bawdy; I think they're close, but that blurply flash on WMB might just win me over to getting it, too!!

    1. I am thinking OPI Into the Night might be a bit lighter/more dusty looking than Bawdy is here...just guessing - have not done a side to side on 'em.

    2. Thanks for showing the comparison today!! I can save my money by foregoing WMB, LOL!

  9. I was eager to see this collection as well from the promo photos. I played with them all last week at Sally's and did not come home with even one of them. Between brush-strokey and not duochrome really (maybe a hint in a few)...and I did not need another Peridot dupe most certainly...I just did not pick any out...but if I did (and I still might) it would be Unpredictable.

  10. They're all beautiful but to be hones - to me, they looked much prettier in the bottle than on the nails. Now I hesitate if I'm going to buy some...

  11. I'm not as bowled over by duochromes as many, so the only color I initially picked up was Deviantly Daring. I ended up picking up the rest of the collection on sale, and I really like the colors in their own right now! They are very unique to my collection.
