OPI Vintage Minnie Mouse Collection Summer 2012 - Swatches and Review

I have swatches of a sweet little collection for you today!

OPI says: “This collection brings together the expertise of OPI and the iconic style of Minnie Mouse to inspire the distinct palette of vibrant, feminine shades for summer Nails will pop against summer skin in these classic, saturated hues – holding their own alongside the bold prints of the season.”

THE COLOR OF MINNIE

IF YOU MOUST YOU MOUST

I´M ALL EARS

NOTHIN´ MOUSIE ´BOUT IT over IF YOU MOUST YOU MOUST

I must say I really like this collection. I like the inspiration and the fact that even though it is little there is a nice variety of finishes. I can´t wait to wear all of these. The only thing that could have been better is the heart glitter. I wish there were more hearts to pick. But I like it anyway.

What do you think of this collection? Let me know!

Illamasqua Naked Strangers Nail Varnishes Summer 2012 - Swatches and Review

I am sure you all already know Illamasqua is releasing a brand new summer collection called Naked Strangers. And I am so excited that the collection comes with three brand new Nail Varnishes.

“Naked Stangers captures inner glowers and depths. The deeply and darkly alluring exists alongside ethereal shimmering brilliance. We are complex and multifaceted whilst also being naked to the world.” – Alex Box, Illamasqua Creative Director

 Here are my swatches:

MONOGAMOUS

FAITHFUL

SWINGER

I think that these are great for summer. Bronze, gold and nude are something great to pair with a tan and the hot sunny weather. I really like the combination of colours that was chosen for this collection. It is really hard to say which one is my favourite but I think it is Monogamous. I love the fact that it is a matte nude, I have nothing else like it. It is not a chalky matte...I would call it semi-matte which I really like here. On the other hand if you look at Swinger it shines like crazy.
I say it every time I review Illamasqua Nail Varnishes and I will say it again here: the formula on these was perfect. All three of them applied like a dream and covered in two coats. If you are not a neon type of nail polish person I recommend you try one or all of these pretties.

Today is the exclusive early release of the Nail Varnishes. What do you think of them and are you getting any?

OPI NYC Ballet Soft Shades Collection 2012 - Swatches and Review

Hello my dear readers. I hope you had a great weekend. Today I have for you swatches of the OPI NYC Ballet Collection which is part of the Soft Shades range OPI releases every year.

OPI says: "OPI announces the launch of six new additions to the SoftShades collection, inspired by the New York City Ballet (NYCB), one of the world’s premiere dance companies. New York City Ballet by OPI features five sheer shades lightly tinged in hues of beige, pink, white, lilac and gray, as well as a silver sparkly lacquer. With various sized glitter particles, this hue can be worn alone or layered over any of the other colors for added shine and dimension."

MY POINTE EXACTLY

CARE TO DANSE?

YOU CALLIN´ME A LYRE?

BARRE MY SOUL

DON´T TOUCH MY TUTU!

PIROUETTE MY WHISTLE

If you love sheers I think you must try at least some of these. They have great formula and with shorter nails I am sure they will look fab. They add a nice shine to your nails. However for me this collection is not very interesting. You know I don´t like sheers and I never wear them. I think that from the pictures it is obvious why...they just don´t look nice on me.
Let me know what about you and sheers...do you like these or are you like me?

Nicole By OPI Purple Yourself Together

This beautiful purple is from the Spring 2012 Target exclusive polishes. And because it is a purple I obviously love it. I love the shimmer it has. This polish covers in three coats. I don´t like that part much but guess I will have to forgive it since it is so pretty.

China Glaze Summer Neons Collection - Comparisons

Two days ago I showed you the new China Glaze Summer Neons Collection. In my review I wrote that the colours are not that super unique but the polishes are great because of their opacity, shimmer and mainly because of how easy they are to work with. You know I love doing comparisons so I though a special post just with some comparisons from this collection might be helpful. I chose seven shades to which I had some close polishes. There are no dupes here but I think it will give you a better idea of how the polishes look like. Here they are:

SUN-KISSED
Yellow itself is a problematic colour in the nail polish world. Yellow neons are very often a nightmare. In this comparison I have my favourite Illamasqua Rare (R), Color Club Get Your Lemo-on (GYL) and China Glaze Celtic Sun (CS). I used three coats on all of these although Sun-Kissed (SK) and Rare could go with just two.

HANG-TEN TOES
In the bottles China Glaze Hang-ten Toes (HT), China Glaze Pink Voltage (PV) and Color Club Electro Candy (EC) looked quite similar. However the difference is obvious on the nail. I used two coats of these.

BEACH CRUISE-R
Beach Cruise-r (BR) is one of my favourites from the collection. I love it. The closest I could find was Illamasqua Obsess (O) and China Glaze Purple Panic (PP). Two coats of each here again.

LOVE´S A BEACH
Some of you wanted me to compare Love´s a Beach (LAB) with China Glaze Pool Party but I didn´t find it. Guess I borrowed it to someone. But I at least included Illamasqua Collide (C). Two coats of each.

I´M WITH THE LIFEGUARD
The green neons all looked very similar in their bottles but on the nails you can see the differences. I compared I´m with the Lifequard (IWTL) with Color Club What a Shock! (WAS) and China Glaze Kiwi Cool-ada (KC). Two coats of each polish.

ORANGE YOU HOT?
Orange you hot? (OYH) is a yellow orange that is different from oranges such as Illamasqua Gamma. The closest I could find was China Glaze Sun Worshiper (SW). OYH was two coats, WS three.

SPLISH SPLASH
And my last comparison is of Splish Splash (SS) with Color Club Wicked Sweet (WS). Two coats of both.

I think that from these comparisons it is obvious why I love the Summer Neons Collection so much. The polishes I showed you here cover in two coats and I love the shimmer in them. You will also find them very easy to apply. Compared to the China Glaze Poolside Collection they are way better!

China Glaze Summer Neons Collection 2012 - Swatches and Review

Good afternoon my dear readers. First of all I would like to thank you for all the positive comments under my last post, where I showed you how I swatched the whole China Glaze permanent line. Thank you so much once again!

I am continuing with the China Glaze wave on my blog with their newest collection for summer which is called Summer Neons...twelve super bright and neon polishes that are a must for summer!

China Glaze says: "The sun has nothing on you this summer!  Rival its brightness and heat with China Glaze Summer 2012 collection, Summer Neons.  Featuring 12 new sizzling shades perfect for surf, sand and nightlife, the all new hot hues in China Glaze"

Here are my swatches:

PINK PLUMERIA

UNDER THE BROADWALK

SPLISH SPLASH

LOVE´S A BEACH

HANG-TEN TOES

BEACH CRUISE-R

ORANGE YOU HOT?

SURFIN´ FOR BOYS

FLIRTY TANKINI

RIDE THE WAVES

I´M WITH THE LIFEGUARD

SUN-KISSED

As you can see from the swatches the collection just screams summer to you! As a whole the collection has a very nice variety of colours from a highlighter yellow to a jelly blue. Now you might say that we have seen similar colours before not only from other brands but also from China Glaze. Yes, that is true but I love these anyway. Why? First of all they are very easy to work with. Neons can be very hard to apply. These are not....they are not streaky and mostly cover in two coats (I used two coats on all of these swatches). They are also different because of the shimmer most of them have. My least favourite are the two jellies which are Ride The Waves and Under The Broadwalk. Other than that I love all of them. Just please keep in mind that they are even better than on my pictures...neons are so hard to photograph! Can´t wait to wear these on my toes on my summer vacation.
Which ones are you getting?

China Glaze® Summer Neons will be available as open stock colors and 12-piece counter display.  Individual polishes retail for $7 MSRP and the 8-piece box set retails for $56.  China Glaze® Summer Neons will be available at fine salons and beauty supply stores nationwide in June 2012.
